SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS FORUM:
Assessments, B-Corps Certification, and Triple Bottom Line”
Washtenaw Community College
6:00PM – 9:00PM
How does one know there’s value beyond profits? How can businesses promote value beyond price? How can buyers trust the authenticity of a business’s sustainability practice? SMSBF invites business, non-profit and community leaders, as well as educators and others as we tackle and provide answers to these questions and more at our upcoming, “Beyond Financials”.
Today’s globalized, single bottom line, “shareholder value” system is reaching its limits. Its replacement – the emerging sustainable, triple bottom line business model – is still being defined. There is, however, a growing body of knowledge that’s useful for assessing sustainable business (SB) value.
“Beyond Financials” will survey what’s being used to assess sustainable value, delving into such topics as: the history of assessments and certifications, how assessments fit together and inform marketplace decisions and what the future holds for the assessment landscape. Attendees will also have the opportunity to explore B-Corps certification, which a growing number of buyers have come to trust as the mark of a sustainable, triple bottom line business.
Admission includes access to the event, heavy hors d’oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages.
