Thursday, Mar 19, 2020
7:00pm – 8:00pm
Join SMSBF as we host Peter Ruark, of the Michigan League for Public Policy (MLPP), and Jarret Schlaff, Founder of Pingree Detroit, in a discussion about the intersection between policy, workforce development and the social enterprise.
The webinar will take place on Thursday, March 19th from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
If you’re interested in things such as the importance of work to the dignity of persons, paying fair and living wages, the social enterprise and public policy, then you’ll not want to miss this webinar. We invite business leaders, those who work in public policy, educators, NGO leaders and others to join us.
Many of our returning citizens, veterans and others often find it difficult to enter and remain in the workforce. There are a number of reasons for this, including a lack of accesses to the sorts of supportive services necessary to make a lasting impact. The impact of public policy that supports workforce development, by providing wrap-around services and adult skill enhancement, are the sorts of things we’ll be discussing in this webinar.
Noted MLPP Senior Policy Analyst, Peter Ruark, will bring his rich understanding of workforce public policy, and Jarett Schlaff, founder of Pingree Detroit, will open-up what he’s gained leading one of Detroit’s growing and successful social enterprises. The combination of Ruark’s and Schlaff’s experience and wisdom is sure to make for a rich and insightful discussion.
Attendance is free of charge, but there are only 20 registrations available, so act fast.
