Reopening the Economy is a Local Thing

If the pandemic is teaching us anything, it’s about the importance of leadership, and that governance is a local matter. Reopening the economy, from what is becoming perhaps the worst economic disaster in US history, is not something that’s in the control of the central government: it rests with us, as residents of our communities and the State of Michigan. To get the reopening right, we need to pay attention to a plurality of inputs and ideas.

Over the last several weeks, SMSBF has been participating in a working group organized by American Sustainable Business Council, of which SMSBF is a member. This group has come-up with a number of thoughtful, progressive ideas for reopening the economy in ways that point to a much more sustainable system.

Join us on Wednesday, May 27, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, for a webinar that will introduce the working group’s recommendations.
